FINANCIAL POLICY

Payment for services

Your psychiatric care will be provided by Dr. Hutchinson, not a junior colleague, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant. All fees are payable at the time of service. Patients with out-of-network health plan benefits and medical savings accounts may be able to obtain partial reimbursement by submitting their statements. Patients and families will be charged for late cancellations and for the use of professional time between appointments, e.g. prescription requests.

Professional fees are $240 for each meeting of 45 minutes or less.  Dr. Hutchinson begins your consultation with a lengthy initial session and a thorough record review.  The first session for an adult is usually 1 ½ hours. The evaluation of children and adolescents requires more time.

Account responsibility

  • I do not have a billing service. The person coming to the appointment must bring/make payment each time we meet.

  • There is a $25 charge for payments made after the date of service. Late fees then accumulate at $25 every week.

  • Your upcoming appointments will be cancelled if you maintain a balance and do not make arrangements for paying your bill.

  • Any arrangement for out-of-network benefits or health savings accounts are between you and your benefit plan.  Full payment at the time of service is still required.

Cancels and no shows

When you make an appointment, you reserve my professional time.  I am very careful with my schedule, and I turn down new patients and patients in need of urgent appointments to give you priority.  Provide 48 hours’ notice (2 business days ahead for holidays and weekends) if you need to make a change.to avoid being charged for session.
